Lane grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, where he enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, and drawing from an early age. He attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts during high school and later graduated from Lander University with a BA in Painting and Printmaking. After several years in the city, Lane returned to school to pursue a music career and landed a management role on a production music library project for Sony/ATV.
During this period, Lane discovered that he and others in creative fields faced similar challenges in developing healthy spending plans and goals for themselves and their businesses. He partnered with these peers to help them establish long-term solutions, which led him to become a CFP® professional himself. Thirteen years on, Lane now holds a special designation in sustainable, responsible, and impact investing: the CSRIC®, or Chartered SRI CounselorSM.
In his free time, Lane enjoys running through the boroughs of NYC with the New York Road Runners, swimming in the ocean year-round with his husband as a Coney Island Polar Bear, and thrill-seeking across the USA as a member of the American Coaster Enthusiasts.
